Link the office hub from the firm’s website

Staff click a button on the yard or shop domain. The browser opens intrepidmarine.net, where they sign in and run MarineServiceTech or ServiceValet.

Most firms already have a website. They do not need to run the office hub on that host. Put a link (or a short Apache redirect) from their domain to the hub Intrepid Marine LLC hosts. The marketing site stays theirs. Sign-in, tickets, and returns run here.

This is the usual setup. Putting the hub on the firm’s own hostname is dedicated hosting, arranged with Intrepid Marine LLC.

1. The URLs to use

Desk staff use the login URL. That is where they run MST (or ServiceValet) in the browser. Label the button with the firm name if you want — “Harbor Point yard office” — the href stays the login URL above. Create a firm from that same page if they do not have one yet.

Do not put a server address, droplet, or private host name on the firm’s website, on a ticket, or in an SMS. Public links stay on intrepidmarine.net.

2. HTML button (any host)

Paste this on the firm’s home page, a staff page, or the footer. Same tab is better so the office is the work surface:

To keep the marketing site open, add target="_blank" rel="noopener". Prefer the same tab for people who will actually work tickets.

3. Pretty path on Apache / cPanel

Optional. If they want https://YOUR-DOMAIN/marineservicetech to send the browser to the hub on intrepidmarine.net, use a redirect — not a reverse proxy. Redirect is allowed in .htaccess. ProxyPass is not.

In public_html/.htaccess (or the HTTPS vhost):

Apache appends the rest of the path, so https://YOUR-DOMAIN/marineservicetech/login becomes https://intrepidmarine.net/marineservicetech/login. Use temp (302) so browsers do not cache a mapping forever.

Shop office:

Redirect temp /servicevalet https://intrepidmarine.net/servicevalet

A short staff path that always lands on login:

cPanel Redirects tool

  1. cPanel → Redirects.
  2. Type: Temporary (302).
  3. Domain: the firm’s site. Path: /marineservicetech (no trailing slash).
  4. Redirects to: https://intrepidmarine.net/marineservicetech
  5. Turn Wild Card Redirect on so /marineservicetech/login keeps the suffix.

Do not redirect / (the whole site). Do not create a folder named marineservicetech or servicevalet in DocumentRoot — a real folder wins over the redirect.

Plesk: Domains → the site → Apache & nginx Settings → Additional directives for HTTPS, or Hosting & DNS → Apache redirects. Same Redirect temp line.

4. WordPress, Wix, Squarespace

5. Do not iframe

Do not wrap the office hub in an <iframe>, <object>, or “embed this page” widget. Sign-in uses cookies, two-factor email, and HTTPS redirects. Those fail or look broken inside a frame. A normal link (or the Apache redirect) is the refer.

6. iPhone app and App Clip

The office hub is the browser. Techs still install MarineServiceTech (or ServiceValet) on the phone. Put the App Store link next to the office button if the firm’s public site should send techs there.

App Clip URLs stay on this domain: intrepidmarine.net/mst and intrepidmarine.net/sv. Apple’s site association file lives here. Do not point /mst or /sv at a different host.
